Green Marble is one of the most distinctive and visually striking natural stones, known for its captivating green hues ranging from light mossy tones to deep, rich forest and emerald shades. Iranian green marble varieties, including Verde Galassia, Irish Green, Ceppo Verde, and Green Anarak Marble, are highly prized in international markets for their unique coloration, elegant veining patterns, and exceptional quality.
The defining characteristic of Green Marble is its dynamic, multi-layered appearance. Some varieties, such as Verde Galassia, feature a deep, dark green base dramatically accentuated by bold white, brown, and reddish veins that create a natural sense of movement across the surface. Others, like Ceppo Verde Marble, offer a striking conglomerate structure with mossy green and olive-toned patches embedded within a lighter matrix of creamy beige and soft gray, evoking the look of ancient riverbed deposits. Green Anarak Marble presents a lighter, more uniform light green background with scattered white veins, adding a natural and unique elegance to any interior space.
Irish Green Marble from Iran features a green base with a glassy polish, water absorption below 0.5%, and compressive strength exceeding 100 MPa, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications including high-traffic areas. This variety maintains good performance across temperature variations, with minimal mass loss after freeze-thaw cycles.
Green Marble is formed through natural geological processes and is quarried from select regions in Iran, particularly in the northwest along the Zagros Mountains range, where deposits from Mesozoic carbonate rock layers are extracted. The material exhibits a Mohs hardness ranging from 3 to 5, depending on the specific variety. With proper sealing and maintenance, these marbles are suitable for both interior and exterior applications, though many varieties are best suited for interior use.
This combination of rich green coloration, dynamic veining patterns, unique textural characteristics, and reliable physical properties makes Green Marble a preferred choice for architects, interior designers, and luxury developers seeking to create sophisticated, nature-inspired spaces with timeless elegance.
